The film throws the audience directly into the heart of a covert operation in the South African jungle. Jackie (Jackie Chan), an elite member of a multi-national Special Force Unit, is part of a mission to abduct scientists working on a new, volatile, and potentially lethal extraterrestrial compound extracted from a meteorite. The mission is a success, but the entire team is brutally betrayed by a crooked CIA agent, Morgan (Ron Smerczak), who crashes their extraction helicopter to cover the double-cross and steal the compound for personal profit.
Jackie is the sole survivor. He wakes up days later in a remote African tribal village, having miraculously survived the crash and a fall from the helicopter. When asked his name, he can only reply, “Who Am I?” The kind natives adopt him and give him that phrase as his name. With no memory, but with instinctive, lethal fighting skills, he sets out on a journey back to civilization. With the help of a Japanese rally co-driver, Yuki (Mirai Yamamoto), and a mysterious journalist, Christine Stark (Michelle Ferre), “Who Am I?” slowly begins to piece together the fragments of his violent past. However, his reappearance alerts the corrupt CIA agents, who dispatch a team of professional assassins to silence him permanently. The film culminates in a legendary final showdown on top of a Rotterdam skyscraper, featuring one of the most death-defying, unassisted stunts in cinema history.
