The Smurl family moves into a new home only to be violently plagued by mysterious and increasingly malevolent entities. As the media attention grows and the Smurls’ lives are shattered, Ed and Lorraine are called upon to investigate what they soon realize is a demonic infestation.
However, this case becomes intensely personal. Last Rites beautifully connects this new haunting to a terrifying encounter from the Warrens’ earliest days in the 1960s, involving a cursed mirror. The film dedicates significant time to the Warren family dynamic, as their daughter Judy Warren (Mia Tomlinson), who possesses her own growing psychic abilities, is drawn into the conflict, forcing Ed and Lorraine to face an old, powerful evil that threatens to destroy everything they hold dear.
