Set on a remote island, the film follows Jenny (Ayanna Misola), a curious young woman who is mesmerized by the arrival of Euka (Janelle Tee), a beautiful and highly skilled culinary expert. Aspiring to be like Euka, Jenny begs for cooking lessons. Euka agrees, but their bond quickly morphs into a destructive mentorship where Euka teaches Jenny about more than just food, revealing a wild, seductive power. As Jenny’s newfound passion and sexual desires are unleashed, she begins to lose her innocence, and her boyfriend, Ephraim (Massimo Scofield), starts to pull away. Convinced that Euka is deliberately manipulating her life, Jenny realizes the mysterious newcomer’s true motives are far darker than simple lessons. Putahe (meaning ‘Dish’) uses the metaphors of cuisine and appetite to tell a story of seduction, rivalry, and a shocking dose of revenge.
