​Directed by Luan Zhang, the film stars Jackie Chan playing a fictional, caricatured version of his world-famous self. Jackie is bored with his routine life until his agent, David (Xiang Wei), arranges a high-profile photo op: adopting a rare and beloved baby panda named Hu Hu from the Noah Zoo.

​Unbeknownst to Jackie, Hu Hu is far more valuable than anyone realizes, and a notorious international crime syndicate has offered a massive, multi-million dollar bounty for the bear’s capture. When a large team of professional, ruthless mercenaries storms the zoo to snatch the panda, Jackie is forced to spring into action.

​Jackie, along with the clumsy but fiercely dedicated panda caretaker, Su Xiao Zhu (Ce Shi), finds himself in a high-stakes, Die Hard-style scenario within the confines of the zoo. They must use the zoo’s environment—cages, exhibits, and gift shops—as their playground for a series of trademark slapstick martial arts fights and inventive stunts to outwit and outkick the heavily armed bad guys at every turn. Though the film has some meta-humor about Jackie’s advancing age and uses noticeable CGI for the panda, it delivers the blend of thrilling action, physical comedy, and heartwarming moments that fans have come to expect from the star.
