The film is a standalone tale following the life of Tien (Tony Jaa), the son of a noble family. After his parents are brutally betrayed and murdered by the tyrannical Lord Rajasena (Sarunyu Wongkrachang), young Tien is orphaned, captured by slave traders, and nearly fed to a crocodile.
He is dramatically rescued by the mysterious bandit leader Chernang (Sorapong Chatree) and his outlaw tribe, the Pha Beek Khrut. Recognizing the boy’s sheer will, Chernang adopts Tien and trains him in a dizzying array of Asian martial arts—from Muay Thai, to Kenjutsu (Japanese swordsmanship), to Kung Fu, and various forms of traditional Thai warfare and elephant combat.
