​The title Kara Krus translates to “Heads or Tails,” a motif central to the dual life of the film’s protagonist, Adela (played by Denise Esteban). Adela is a married woman who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), a condition that gives rise to an uncontrollable second persona.

​Adela’s alter ego, Lena, is everything Adela is not: uninhibited, impulsive, and highly promiscuous. The story turns chaotic when Lena’s reckless actions cross a line into the criminal, culminating in her committing a murder. Adela is left to deal with the terrifying consequences of an act she can’t remember, as her two personalities—the innocent wife and the dangerous killer—battle for control. The film explores the profound psychological turmoil of Adela as she attempts to piece together the events and contain the deadly actions of her destructive other half, forcing a dramatic confrontation between innocence and guilt. The cast also features Adrian Alandy and Felix Roco.
