​Home is based on the children’s book The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex and was directed by Tim Johnson. It features a star-studded voice cast, including Jim Parsons (as Oh), Rihanna (as Tip), Steve Martin (as Captain Smek), and Jennifer Lopez (as Lucy Tucci).

​The story begins with the invasion of Earth by a cowardly alien race known as the Boov, led by the ridiculously overconfident Captain Smek. The Boov deem humans “simple and backwards” and promptly relocate the entire human population to a planned community in the Australian Outback while they settle into human homes.

​However, one resourceful 13-year-old girl named Gratuity “Tip” Tucci (Rihanna) manages to evade capture, along with her Japanese Bobtail cat, Pig. Determined to find her mother, Lucy, Tip sets out on her own quest. Her path soon crosses with Oh (Jim Parsons), a friendly but socially awkward Boov misfit who is on the run from his own kind after making a catastrophic mistake that threatens to expose the Boov to their ancient enemy, the Gorg.

​Despite mutual distrust at first, the two fugitives form an unlikely bond. As they embark on a hilarious and heartwarming road trip, Oh comes to realize that being different is okay, and together, they discover the true, deeper meaning of the word “home.”
