​The film centers on Meldie (Ayanna Misola), a seemingly sweet young woman who owns a local laundry shop. The title Bula (Filipino for “bubble” or “foam/suds”) hints at the illusion of cleanliness Meldie provides while her inner life and actions are stained with darkness and violence. Co-starring veteran actor Mon Confiado as her disabled husband, this is a character-driven thriller that challenges morality and explores the frightening lengths one woman will go to for lust and love.
