​The story, set in a fictional August 2019, centers on Frank Patrick (played by Rolf Peter Kahl). Frank recognizes his past, twenty-year-old love affair with a woman named Marie in a recently published book. This discovery, along with the yearning it sparks, compels him to sever his ties to his civic life and embark on a road trip across the United States in search of the book’s author, Marie.

​Frank travels through a scorching, politically tense, and paranoid America. His search leads him into the desert, where he meets Nina (Ava Verne), a mysterious woman, and her associates. As Frank becomes further entangled in a world of sophisticated sexual encounters and voyeurism—often acting as a cameraman—he begins to feel as if he is not only reliving the past but also enacting the very words of Marie’s book. The lines between memory, reality, and written fiction blur, turning his pursuit into a bizarre, existential, and sensually explicit journey that questions the nature of love, desire, and revenge.
