​Kick off the holiday season with a healthy dose of awkward family tension and laughs! A Merry Little Ex-Mas (2025) is the newest Christmas movie sensation on Netflix, and it’s now available for download and streaming on HdHubFlix!

​Directed by Steve Carr, the film centers on Kate (Alicia Silverstone), a woman determined to “consciously uncouple” from her doctor ex-husband, Everett (Oliver Hudson). After years of putting her career dreams aside to raise their children in the quaint, Christmas-card-perfect town of Winterlight, Kate is ready to sell their family home and move back to Boston to finally become a green architect.

​Kate’s goal is to orchestrate one final, perfect, tradition-filled family Christmas before the divorce is finalized. Her meticulously planned holiday goes instantly and hilariously off the rails when Everett shows up with his new, younger, highly successful, and surprisingly nice girlfriend, Tess (Jameela Jamil).

​As Kate desperately tries to maintain control of the holiday spirit (even bringing her own younger flirtation, Chet, played by Pierson Fodé, into the mix to make Everett jealous), the awkward situation forces both Kate and Everett to confront their unresolved feelings, the sacrifices Kate made for their life together, and what they truly stand to lose as a family. The film, which also features an appearance by Melissa Joan Hart as Kate’s best friend, blends classic holiday cheer with a surprisingly realistic look at the complexities of divorce, co-parenting, and finding your own path later in life.
